Societies Join in Service
罢丑别听AEX/LMA Society, sponsored by Mrs. Carla Krueger, collected donations for the Hope Crisis Pregnancy Center in Oklahoma City. The society was able to聽collect over 200 baby items. They will be used to help the young mothers who have chosen “Life for their babies instead of abortion.” The AEX/LMA Presidents, Dani Schinzing and Sarah Riggs, coordinated the efforts. In聽addition to collecting the items they also put together gift bags, delivered the items, and volunteered at the Hope Center.
罢丑别听EEL/GET Society, sponsored by Mrs. Nancy Draper, sponsored a carnival for the children of the J.D. McCarty Center for Children with Developmental Disabilities in Norman. A total of 17 students manned the booths and games. For many it was their first experience in dealing with children with developmental disabilities. Mrs. Draper said,聽“The hearts of our 糖心Vlog students were touched.”聽The following are comments made by two of the EEL/GET students who participated:
“Working with kids has always been a big part of my life, but I don’t think anything could compare to how much these kids touched my heart. It was a blessing.”
